Ive seen two today with no plates yet, basic panel vans. So I guess the Merc truck dealers are selling these in the USA now.

Yup, that threw me for a loop a few weeks ago, too. They’re another work truck quietly being sold here, and they even have a passenger version. The most barebones, stripped passenger van this side of the Ford Transit Connect Wagon.
Honestly, if they offered it with the excellent 3.5 V6 or the diesel, I might be game. It’s only got the small four-pot in it, and very few options.

I think the first one I saw had windows. Today I see panel vans. No diesel? That sucks.

I’ve seen several commercials on TV for them, the first time I was completely surprised. I didn’t know they were for sale here, or that they’d get significant commercial time.

I download everything I watch so I never see commercials. I watch so many things from other countries it would be insanely expensive to get it all on the up and up. I see the UK commercials if I want during F1 coverage because the file is never edited.

I had a feeling the other day it must be through the truck dealers because I live near RAB Motors and never saw anything. But they have no diesels apparently.

no diesels and no manuals :(

I’ve had one for a while. I do a lot of cargo related stuff and although I have the passenger version it’s still very practical for the job.

They had 2 or 3 at the auto show.

I actually didn’t go to the show floor for any auto show this year. I was stuck in the workshop getting other shows ready. I’m not sure SF would have them but maybe LA since it’s bigger.

The Knoxville MB dealer seems to have more Vans on the lot then actual MB cars.

Vans without diesel engines or manual boxes! Truly a different world.
If I went out to my local Ford dealer and bought a Transit it would have a manual/diesel combination and no other option available.

Weird to see bare bones models sold in the US when it was MB who lobbied for the 25 year rule to prevent people from imorting cheaper Euro spec cars.
65,000 to 70,000 bucks for a family hauler. And yes, the VW is just as expensive.

Do we get the luxury spec in the US?

Apparently not according to the MB USA website. But an interior straight out of the Sprinter.
